About

About Me

Welcome!

My name is Jacki Mignosa and I have been at Gravelly in different positions since 2008.  This, however, is my first year as an Exceptional Children's teacher and it has quickly become one of the best years yet!  Over the past 12 years I have been a Coach of 3 sports that include Girls XC, Girls Basketball and Girls Soccer.  I am a graduate of Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH with a BS in Physical Education and Health and am currently working on my add-on licenses for EC.

When I am not teaching or coaching, I love spending time with my husband, 3 daughters, and son-in-law.  I love being outside, hiking, kayaking, running, walking, hanging with my flock of chickens, and travelling.  One of my greatest passions is teaching and encourageing others about how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.  I can easily be distracted by talking about healthy recipes, awesome exercises, and sports!

Along with my coaching philosophy, my teaching philosophy is to engage, teach, build relationships, and promote a lifelong love of learning for my students through encouragement, positivity, love, and kindness.

How It Works

7th Grade Math

As of right now in our Distance Learning we are only reviewing material that has previously been taught.  Here are the 7th grade standards that we are reviewing at this time.

Unit 1:  Ratios and Proportions: Analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems.

Unit 2:  Proportional Reasoning and Scale:  Analyze proportional relationships and use them to solve real-world and mathematical problems.  Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them.  Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers.

Unit 3:  Rational Number Systems:  Apply and extend previous understandings of operations with fractions to add, subtract, multiply, and divide rational numbers. Solve real-world and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities.

Unit 4:  Probability:  Investigate chance processes and develop, use, and evaluate probability models.

Unit 5:  Equivalent Expressions:  Use properties of operations to generate equivalent expressions.

Unit 6:  Equations and Inequalities:  Solve real-world and mathematical problems using numerical and algebraic expressions, equations, and inequalities.

Unit 7:  Angles, Triangles, and Polygons:  Draw, construct, and describe geometrical figures and describe the relationships between them.  Solve real-world and mathematical problems involving angle measure, area, surface area, and volume.
